Bryan Pugh, J.D., is a Senior Associate Attorney with Elville and Associates, P.C., where he practices in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and special needs planning. His background in law, nonprofit leadership, education, and advocacy gives him a unique perspective when working with individuals and families facing important planning decisions.

Before joining Elville and Associates, Bryan spent more than a decade as Executive Director of the Brain Injury Association of Maryland (BIAMD), where he worked extensively with individuals with brain injuries, their families, and caregivers. During his tenure, he helped significantly expand the organization's programs and reach while building partnerships throughout Maryland.

Bryan also developed a number of BIAMD's community education and outreach programs, including the Brain Injury Connector Podcast, the #5Thoughts Fridays newsletter, and the Check-In Chat support group. His years working directly with individuals and families affected by brain injury continue to inform his approach to elder law and special needs planning today.

Bryan's legal and professional experience also includes serving as Associate Director of Development and Communications at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and as Assistant General Counsel for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Earlier in his career, he taught legal writing and research at Florida State University College of Law, where he also advised and mentored law students.

Bryan earned his Juris Doctor, with Honors, from Florida State University College of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy. He earned his B.A., cum laude, from Florida Southern College and received a German American Club Fellowship to study at the Universität Hamburg in Germany. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland and Florida.

Outside of his legal practice, Bryan has served in leadership and volunteer roles with organizations including the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute Board, the University of Maryland Medicine Foundation Board, and the Church of the Nativity Missions Finance Committee.

Throughout his career, Bryan has spent much of his time helping people understand complicated issues and make informed decisions. He brings that same approach to his work at Elville and Associates, taking the time to listen to clients, explain their options in understandable terms, and help them develop plans that make sense for themselves and their families.
