Carla Mamana is a Senior Associate Attorney with Elville and Associates, P.C., concentrating her practice in estate planning, business law, probate and trust administration, and special needs planning primarily involving third-party special needs trusts. With more than 18 years of legal experience, Carla brings a broad background in estate and trust matters, business transactions, and dispute resolution to her work with individuals, families, and business owners.

Before joining Elville and Associates, Carla served as a Senior Associate Attorney with a Maryland law firm, where she handled a substantial portfolio of estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters. Her work included developing customized estate plans, preparing revocable and irrevocable trusts, advising fiduciaries and beneficiaries, and assisting families with the administration of estates and trusts, including contested matters.

Carla also spent 10 years as the owner of her own law practice, representing individuals and businesses in estate planning, business formation, commercial transactions, and related legal matters. Her experience in business law, together with her educational background in accounting and business management, gives her a practical understanding of the financial and legal considerations that often overlap in estate planning, business succession, and estate administration.

Carla has also served as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Program Coordinator for the District Court of Maryland in Montgomery County. Her background in mediation and conflict resolution is has been particularly valuable in helping clients work through sensitive family matters, difficult decisions, and the challenges that can arise during estate and trust administration.

Carla recognizes that estate planning is about much more than preparing legal documents. It involves understanding each client's circumstances, family relationships, concerns, and goals. She takes the time to listen, explain available options, and help clients make informed decisions about protecting their families and planning for the future. She brings that same thoughtful approach to families navigating the loss of a loved one and the responsibilities associated with administering an estate or trust.

Carla earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, a Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Management from the University of Baltimore, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Accounting from the University of Maryland University College.
