Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a Leader in your practice area.

  • Mentor and train less-seasoned attorneys and support staff, fostering a culture of learning, collegiality, and continued development within the firm.
  • Stay current with changes in estate planning laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. (LL.M. a plus)
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar (surrounding states a plus)
  • Minimum of six years of experience in relevant law, with a proven track record of success
  • Intelligent, conscientious, and emotionally stable as fits the work
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Career Opportunity – Senior Paralegal

Elville and Associates, P.C. is a leading estate planning, elder law, and special needs planning law firm with our headquarters in Columbia, Maryland and offices throughout central Maryland.

There is an opportunity for a Senior Paralegal to join our team at our headquarters, located in Columbia, who will have an integral role in growing and supporting our busy law practice – notably, supporting the firm’s senior attorneys and estate planning department.

The Senior Paralegal is vital to the firm’s success. This staff member must also understand how to take care of specific situations related to clients’ trusts, necessary accountings, and specialized issues that arise.

If you are someone who is client- and detail-oriented, positive, efficient, collaborate, compassionate, and thrives in an fast-paced office environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities for the Senior Paralegal position include but are not limited to:

  • Estate Planning: Drafting, attend signing appointments as a notary/witness and lead signings in and out of office
  • Trust Administration: Bill Payments; Client Communications; Property Management; Accountings; Complex Drafting; Coordination with outside council, Co-Trustees/Trust Protectors and other professionals; Tax Filings (document preparation), Entity Management (LLC tax filings); and Accounts Management
  • Estate Administration: Work with attorneys and other team members to ensure taxes are filed; correspond with government agencies, i.e., IRS/Comptroller
  • Administrative: Close files; In-office support for attorneys
